There is a team in Korea that has been catching the world’s reggae artist attention. It is Rude Paper, a team that made their debut in 2012 with their album ‘Paper Spectrum’ who came back now with their second album ‘Destroy Babylon’. The team is composed of South Korean music artists ‘Koonta’, a Korean Reggae vocal artist also known as the Jr. Gong of Asia, ‘RD (Real Dreamer)’, known for his music producing skills in diverse genres and Kevon, a guitarist who has recently joined the group. Not only in Korea but also in Japan, Rude Paper has been continuously active and now they getting ready for the global reggae scene. Rude Paper 2nd album, “DESTROY BABYLON”, for the revival of the Reggae music. This time, Rude Paper decided to approach more in to the core Roots of the Reggae. In order to complete this album they personally visited Jamaica and met with the living legend “Earl chinna smith”. The album was recorded in the famous Bob Marley’s “Tuff Gong Studio”, with famous musicians like ‘Dean Fraser’ (Sexophonist), Black Uhuru’s ‘Mykal Rose’(Singer) , Nambo Robinson (Percussionist) and ‘Kirkledove Bennet’ (Drummer). The album starts with the song “Two Rudi Boys” which is a trap song with emphasized Raggamuffin sounds. This song is like a bridgehead of the 1st and 2nd album of Rude Paper. The title song ‘Don’t matter even if it’s just a dream’ (Koom I ra do joa) is a love song, not only about man-woman relationship, but about all loving relationship between the loved ones. The acoustic sound and Koonta’s unique voice in this song will take you back to the 90’s. ‘We are so dangerous’ and ‘Rootsman’ are songs recorded in ‘Tuff gong studio’ together with Jamaica’s local musicians and Japan’s reggae scene bassist charlie.The tracks are equipped with core reggae soul, music made by the people, 100% for the people. The song ‘East Rockers’, which is featured by the Jamaican reggae musician ‘Mykal Rose’, New Rasta Virus’ featured by the Korean rap artist ‘Double K’ and ‘It’s Changing’ (Byun Hae Ga Ne), a hommage song for a Korea’s famous singer Kim Kwang Seok will be a great gift for not only reggae music fans but for all the music lovers. Also the album is loaded with great songs like ‘Fight like the lion, ‘I&I Reggae’, ‘Freedom’, ‘Truth of the Witches’, ‘One Blood’ and ‘God no fair’. In Jamaica ‘Babylon’ means all the corrupted systems that mess with the human love and its society. ‘Destroy Babylon’ as the meaning itself, is an album that will strengthen the minds of many and give courage to people who listens to it.
